Ragine Stevenson, MSW - Supervisee in Social Work

Hello I am Ragine Stevenson and thank you for choosing me to support you during this journey to an improved mental health. With several years of experience supporting children and families through trauma, I implement trauma-informed approaches to create a safe and respectful environment for all my clients.

 I obtained a Master's Degree with a concentration in Mental Health & Trauma from the University of Denver. I have learned and mastered several evidence based practices/modalites which include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing . I specialize in servicing adolescents ages 10 and up and have experience in Intensive In-Home, Parent-Coaching, and Outpatient Therapy. I have a true passion for promoting positive family engagement by providing psychoeducation to parents and guardians about their child's diagnosis. I have worked with diagnoses such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anxiety, Depression and Autism Spectrum Disorder. I believe in helping families set realistic and attainable goals as I provide them with useful coping techniques/strategies to implement in their home.

As a mother myself of two boys, and a military spouse I understand life's day to day challenges especially when doing the hardest job of all, raising children. Through my relatability, experience, and person-centered approach, I will provide you with competent and effective therapeutic services to meet your needs.

At Turning Point Counseling and Consulting, we offer individual therapy, couples therapy, and children’s & teen’s therapy in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. We also offer teletherapy and consulting.
