Mariam Mohsen, Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy

The journey of life that we all embark on from the time we are born is filled with many significant events, some we anticipate and some that come by surprise. Being able to navigate the stepping stones that we continuously take can get overwhelming at times.

This is where I come in.

I know that taking that first step to pick up the phone and seek therapy is without a doubt brave. Meeting a therapist and sharing your journey is courageous and inspiring. I am honored to provide you with support, guidance, and a safe space.

I am a bilingual therapist (English/Arabic.) I grew up in a multicultural household mixed with Singaporean-Indian and Egyptian cultures and have been fortunate to live in places all over the world.  This has enriched my appreciation for different cultures and beliefs, allowing me to hold space for individuals and families as they navigate the stresses that can come with building new relationships and finding community, all while balancing a variety of cultures and maintaining one’s own identity.

I am a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator and approach therapy with Bowen and Structural Family Therapy lens. I work with couples, families, and individuals 18 years and older.

I am ready to sit with you, hold space and walk with you within your transformative journey.

At Turning Point Counseling and Consulting, we offer individual therapy, couples therapy, and children’s & teen’s therapy in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. We also offer teletherapy and consulting.
