Turning Point Counseling and Consulting Continuing Education Grievance Policy

Continuing Education Grievance Policy

Turning Point Counseling and Consulting (TPCC) offers continuing education and professional training in compliance with the standards, rules, and regulations of the Association of Social Work Boards’ ACE provider approval program. TPCC is committed to fulfilling all responsibilities of an ACE provider, which includes the promotion of training, the content of courses, and interactions with training participants. The Continuing Education Director, in collaboration with the social work consultant and other TPCC staff members, will monitor course offerings for ACE credit to ensure compliance. While TPCC aims to address concerns proactively, some situations may necessitate individualized decision-making and responses. The Continuing Education Grievance Policy will be publicly available on TPCC’s website and any material advertising continuing education trainings.

When a grievance arises concerning TPCC’s continuing education trainings, the individual should notify the Continuing Education Director in writing as soon as possible. Written grievances should include the individual’s name, address, phone number, the title of the course, and a description of the grievance.

To remove the possible perception of bias, lessen the risk for the person serving in multiple roles, provide additional perspective to problem resolution, strengthen decisions regarding complaints or disputes, and maximize objectivity the Continuing Education Director, along with the Social Work Consultant, will seek to resolve the grievance as soon as possible. If needed, they will bring the complaint to other appropriate TPCC staff and potentially other management staff for group consideration. The confidentiality of the individual will be protected to the greatest extent possible. A written response, including any necessary actions to be taken, will be provided to the individual within 30 days of receiving the grievance. A grievance may be resolved by making appropriate changes to future training, providing a different training course, or in another way that addresses the individual’s specific concern.

Records of all grievances, including the decision-making process and final written response, will be kept confidentially by TPCC for a period of seven years. Grievances, along with their outcomes and resolutions, will be regularly reviewed by TPCC’s Continuing Education Director and Social Work Consultant to improve future continuing education trainings.
